Social responsibility

Abson conducts business in an responsible fashion. We regard it as our responsibility to ensure that our suppliers trade in compliance with our standards, which have been drawn up on the basis of BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) and SA8000 standards, combined with our own experience in the field.

Abson therefore operates on the basis of the BSCI´s ethical rules (Code of Conduct) as regards our expectations of our suppliers. The reason for this is that suppliers in many countries unfortunately do not ensure that fundamental conditions are observed.

Abson's Code of Conduct pertains to:

  • Child labour
  • Wages and working hours
  • Discrimination
  • Coercion and malice
  • Forced labour
  • Working environment
  • Freedom of association
  • Environment
  • Combating corruption

Inspection visits
Abson's Code of Conduct is an integral part of our supplier selection process (Factory Audit). Furthermore, in connection with our performance of partial inspections or inspections in general, we also check to make sure that a supplier actually observes the agreed demands, cf. BSCI. In the event of deviation from these demands, an action plan is initiated to initiate improvements, which are then followed up in accordance with fixed deadlines.

Abson is extremely conscious of this issue and is constantly developing this tool in collaboration with both clients and suppliers. Abson regularly participates in BSCI events in order to keep up to date with rules, new initiatives, etc., so that we constantly optimise our demands vis à vis our suppliers.
